FIFE, WA — Concerns are growing among residents after documents surfaced suggesting that Pierce County Councilman Bryan Yambe used city funds at various establishments—including restaurants, convenience stores, and other locations—with no apparent connection to official city business.

A formal letter submitted to the Mayor of Fife, Kim Roscoe, calls for an independent audit of all expenses tied to Yambe dating back to 2013, including reimbursements, credit card statements, and related communications. The complaint describes the spending as a “blatant misuse of his position and the trust of the residents of Fife.”

Despite the seriousness of the allegations, no formal reprimand or investigation has been initiated by city administrators. Residents are calling for greater oversight, transparency, and accountability in how taxpayer funds are handled.

“We expect our elected officials to be good stewards of public money,” said one longtime Pierce County taxpayer. “If a councilmember, and candidate is using city funds for personal purchases, there needs to be a full investigation. The public deserves to know where their money is going.”

Additional concerns have been raised regarding Yambe’s reported interactions with members of the Fife Youth Commission, prompting renewed calls for an independent review and the implementation of ethical safeguards within the city and county governments.

As scrutiny increases, community members are urging Fife officials to take immediate action to ensure financial integrity and rebuild public trust.

Bryan Yambe is currently running for Pierce County Council Position 5.
